The Regional Transport Authority in Sargodha is taking strict actions to combat overcharging by transport owners during Eid-ul-Azha, ensuring passenger safety and fair practices in the transport sector.

As Eid-ul-Azha approaches, the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in Sargodha has issued a stern warning to transport owners who engage in the unfair practice of overcharging passengers traveling to their hometowns for the festive celebrations. The RTA spokesperson has emphasized that strict measures will be implemented to combat overcharging and overloading of vehicles, ensuring the safety and rights of passengers.

Inspections are currently underway at various locations to ensure compliance with regulations. Any transport operators found guilty of overcharging will face immediate action, with excess fares being refunded to affected passengers. The RTA secretary has been tasked by the commissioner to enforce fare regulations rigorously and penalize violators without bias.

To effectively monitor and prevent overcharging and overloading, special teams have been deployed at bus and van terminals, with a dedicated control room established at the RTA office. Transport operators and terminal management have been instructed to strictly adhere to the directives, with severe consequences awaiting those who fail to comply.

The primary focus of these efforts is to protect passengers' rights and promote fair practices within the transport sector, especially during the festive season. By cracking down on overcharging, the RTA aims to ensure a safe and enjoyable travel experience for all passengers during Eid-ul-Azha.
