Food Minister of Punjab, Bilal Yasin, takes strict action against vendors overcharging for roti and naan, ensuring fair pricing and accessibility of essential foods for residents.
Food Minister Punjab, Bilal Yasin, took a strong stance against the sale of overpriced roti and naan in various city areas. During his visit to Temple Road and Karim Park, Yasin arrested 13 individuals for selling these staple foods at inflated prices. He emphasized that it is unacceptable for vendors to exploit consumers by charging exorbitant rates for basic food items.
Yasin reiterated his government's commitment to ensuring that the recent reduction in flour prices benefits the general public directly, rather than being pocketed by middlemen. He stated that affordable roti and naan are already accessible in 80% of the regions, and vowed to continue the crackdown until this practice is eradicated completely.
This operation reflects the government's dedication to promoting fair pricing and accessibility to essential food items for all residents of Punjab.
