The crackdown resulted in fines amounting to Rs. 600,000 for 129 violations. Under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider, assistant commissioners conducted inspections at 4,356 sites to ensure compliance with pricing regulations.

Surprise checks were a key part of the enforcement efforts, with Assistant Commissioner Sahibzada Yusuf overseeing inspections on bakeries in Model Town. These inspections led to fines of Rs. 40,000 for violations of bread pricing regulations. In City Raiwind, Assistant Commissioner Rai Babar issued warnings to bakery managers for not prominently displaying updated bread price lists. Similarly, Assistant Commissioner Shalimar, Anam Fatima, conducted price checks on bakeries in Shalimar Tehsil.

The crackdown is part of the Punjab Chief Minister Relief Programme, aimed at monitoring the sale of essential items like bread and flour at government-approved rates. DC Lahore, Rafia Haider, confirmed a decrease in bread prices, providing relief to citizens. To further support this initiative, citizens are encouraged to report pricing concerns by calling 080002345, as highlighted by DC Lahore Rafia Haider.

The recent actions taken by the authorities in Lahore demonstrate a commitment to ensuring fair pricing practices and protecting consumers from overcharging. By enforcing regulations and conducting regular inspections, the government is working to create a more transparent and accountable marketplace for essential food items.
