Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) intensifies efforts against electricity theft, imposing fines on thousands of offenders and collaborating with law enforcement for effective crackdown.

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) has been actively combating electricity theft in its region, resulting in a significant crackdown on offenders. Over the past 294 days, Fesco has imposed fines totaling Rs980 million on 9,631 individuals found guilty of stealing electricity.

The anti-power-theft campaign conducted by Fesco covered six circles within its jurisdiction. A total of 9,631 offenders have been apprehended, with 48 individuals caught in the last 24 hours alone. These offenders collectively faced fines amounting to Rs980 million, with cases filed against 9,429 of them.

Law enforcement authorities have played a crucial role in this initiative, leading to the arrest of 7,268 electricity thieves and a recovery of Rs704.4 million. The detection teams identified 2,327 instances of electricity theft in the First Circle Faisalabad, resulting in a fine of Rs230 million.

In the subsequent circles, similar actions were taken. In the Second Circle Faisalabad, 1,776 offenders were caught and fined Rs180 million. The Jhang Circle witnessed 1,078 cases of electricity theft, resulting in a fine of Rs108.5 million. The Sargodha Circle and Mianwali Circle penalized 1,409 and 2,406 individuals, respectively, with fines totaling Rs149 million and Rs233.7 million. Additionally, 635 power thieves were apprehended in the Toba Tek Singh Circle, with fines amounting to Rs77.3 million.

Fesco's efforts to combat electricity theft have been robust and effective, with a substantial number of offenders being held accountable and fined accordingly. This crackdown serves as a strong deterrent to those engaging in illegal electricity consumption, ensuring a fair and just distribution of resources for all consumers.
