RTA in Quetta Cracks Down on Overcharging Transporters

The Regional Transport Authority (RTA) in Quetta has announced stringent actions against transporters who overcharge passengers during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha festivities. This decision aims to address the issue of high fares that some transport owners impose on travelers, ensuring fair pricing for the public.

The Secretary of the RTA emphasized the importance of reviewing transport hire rates to improve public convenience. Public feedback is being considered, and complaints are promptly being addressed. A worrying practice identified was the overcrowding of vehicles by adding unsafe seats like stick seats in minibuses, posing a significant safety hazard that needs to be eliminated.

In collaboration with the police and levies force, the RTA is actively monitoring transport fares to prevent any inconvenience to passengers. The Secretary assured that any reported issues causing discomfort to passengers will be promptly investigated and resolved through appropriate actions.
