Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) intensifies efforts against power theft, leading to the apprehension of thousands of offenders and imposing significant financial penalties to deter illegal activities.

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has taken a strong stance against power theft, with a recent crackdown leading to the apprehension of 8378 individuals over the past 259 days. These offenders were found guilty of stealing electricity in various areas under FESCO's jurisdiction, resulting in fines exceeding Rs.864.4 million.

As part of the ongoing anti-power theft campaign, a staggering 19.4 million instances of electricity theft were uncovered, leading to the filing of 8254 cases with the authorities. Law enforcement agencies have been swift in their actions, arresting 6570 individuals involved in power pilfering. In the last 24 hours alone, 42 new arrests were made, further emphasizing FESCO's commitment to curbing this illegal activity. Notably, a significant sum of Rs.621.8 million has been recovered from these offenders, underscoring the financial impact of power theft.

Delving into specific regions, the data reveals alarming numbers of power theft cases. In Faisalabad First Circle, 1988 instances of electricity theft were detected, resulting in fines amounting to Rs.202.29 million. Similarly, the FESCO teams in Faisalabad Second Circle apprehended 1508 offenders and imposed fines totaling Rs.157.8 million. In Jhang Circle, 947 cases of power theft were identified, leading to fines of Rs.99.9 million.

Furthermore, in Sargodha Circle, 1219 individuals were caught stealing electricity, resulting in fines of Rs.130.7 million. The trend continued in Mianwali Circle, where 2137 consumers were found guilty of power theft and fined Rs.204.4 million. Lastly, in Toba Tek Singh Circle, 579 power pilferers were apprehended, with fines amounting to Rs.69 million.

FESCO's relentless efforts to combat power theft have yielded significant results, with a substantial number of offenders being brought to justice. The financial penalties imposed serve as a deterrent to others engaged in similar illegal activities, ultimately contributing to a more secure and fair electricity distribution system for all consumers.
