Sindh Education Department Enhances School Regulations in Karachi

The Sindh Education Department has recently implemented updated regulations for the registration of schools in Karachi, aimed at ensuring standardized educational facilities across different regions of the city. These regulations outline specific criteria that new educational institutions must meet to operate effectively.

According to the guidelines, pre-primary and elementary schools situated in suburban areas are now required to have a minimum plot size of 200 square yards. On the other hand, schools located in more affluent neighborhoods must adhere to a minimum plot size of 400 square yards for primary and elementary levels. This distinction aims to address the varying needs and resources available in different parts of the city.

Furthermore, the provincial education authority has emphasized the importance of essential amenities within school infrastructures. Schools are now mandated to include facilities such as a science laboratory, computer laboratory, and library in their architectural designs. Additionally, schools must have a canteen, provide access to clean drinking water, maintain sanitary restroom facilities, and install CCTV cameras to enhance safety and security measures for students and staff.

These new regulations set by the Sindh Education Department are designed to improve the overall quality of education and ensure a safe learning environment for students in Karachi.
