Sindh Education Department announces 2024 summer vacation dates

Every year, the Sindh Education Department in Karachi announces summer vacations for schools to protect students from the scorching heat. With temperatures reaching 30 degrees Celsius in Karachi and other cities, the risk of heatstroke and dehydration is a significant concern. To safeguard the well-being of students, schools across the province are closed for a two-month period.

Last year, summer vacations commenced on June 1, 2023, and concluded on July 31, 2023. Educational activities resumed on August 01. For the upcoming year, it is anticipated that summer vacations for 2024 will begin on June 1 (Saturday) and schools are likely to reopen on August 01 (Thursday). However, the final decision regarding the summer vacations for 2024 will be made by the education department.

As the temperatures continue to rise, the administration aims to prioritize the health and safety of students by implementing these preventive measures. By starting summer vacations early, students can avoid the risks associated with extreme heat and return to school rejuvenated and ready to resume their studies.
