The Sindh government has officially declared a four-day holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr, as confirmed through a recently issued notification. This decision comes in light of the anticipated sighting of the Shawwal moon on April 9, as forecasted by the Meteorological Department. According to the Department of Meteorology, the new moon is expected to emerge on April 8 at 11:21 pm, with high chances of visibility on April 9. Concurrently, the federal government has also declared a public holiday for Eid-ul-Fitr, spanning from April 10 to 13.

Eid-ul-Fitr, also known as the 'Festival of Breaking the Fast,' marks the end of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting. It is a time of joyous celebration and gratitude for Muslims worldwide, as they conclude a month of spiritual reflection, fasting, and increased devotion. The sighting of the new moon determines the exact date of Eid-ul-Fitr, which varies each year based on the lunar calendar.

The announcement of Eid-ul-Fitr holidays by both the Sindh and federal governments reflects the significance of this religious festival in Pakistan. As preparations begin for the festive occasion, Muslims across the country eagerly await the sighting of the Shawwal moon to mark the end of Ramadan and the commencement of Eid-ul-Fitr celebrations.
