Sindh's Information Minister Hails Karachi's Crime Rate Drop

Sindh's Information Minister recently announced a significant decrease in Karachi's crime rate, with a drop of over 50% in just one month. This positive development comes as a result of ongoing efforts to improve security and address long-standing challenges in the region.

In his address, the minister highlighted the historical targeting of Sindh politically and economically, emphasizing the impact on both the region and the nation. Despite past adversities, the industrial growth witnessed under the PPP government has been commendable, with the upcoming Dhabiji Economic Zone set to play a crucial role in the CPEC.

Looking back at the past, the minister recalled the severe law and order issues faced 15 years ago, contrasting it with the current improved situation. He praised infrastructure developments such as the Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway and the K4 water project, showcasing the significant investments being made in Karachi to attract job seekers from across the country.

The government's commitment to addressing water and infrastructure challenges was reiterated, ensuring Karachi's status as a thriving economic center. The Transport Minister also announced plans to crack down on illegal bus and taxi terminals in the city, with initiatives like a shuttle service and the delayed Red Line bus rapid transit project. Efforts to provide alternative employment opportunities for those affected by the transport sector changes were also mentioned.
