Karachiites are warned of intense heat as temperatures soar to 37-39°C. Precautions are advised to prevent heat-related illnesses amid deteriorating air quality.

Karachiites are advised to stay hydrated as the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted a rise in temperatures in the coming days. The Met Office has warned that the heat will be intense over the next three to four days, with maximum temperatures reaching between 37 to 39°C. Daytime temperatures are expected to be high, but sea breezes may bring some relief in the evenings. Currently, Karachi is experiencing a temperature of 32°C with light winds and 55% humidity. The minimum temperature recorded was 25.6°C.

According to the PMD, the hot weather is attributed to a shift in wind patterns, affecting not only Karachi but most parts of Sindh as well. A weather analyst has predicted that the influence of north-westerly winds will keep humidity levels low, with temperatures possibly feeling as high as 41°C. However, some respite can be expected during the night.

During this period of hot weather, air quality is also expected to deteriorate. It is essential for residents to take necessary precautions to prevent heat-related illnesses and to ensure they stay cool and hydrated.
