Residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa warned of upcoming severe weather conditions

Residents of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa should brace themselves for a series of rain-wind/thunderstorms expected to hit the region from April 10 to April 15. The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning regarding the weather conditions, stating that a westerly wave will enter the upper parts of Pakistan on April 10, followed by a stronger wave on April 12 that will affect most parts of the country until April 15.

Areas such as Chitral, Dir, Swat, Abbottabad, and others are likely to experience rain-wind/thunderstorms from April 10 to April 15, with intermittent spells expected in Waziristan, Kohat, Peshawar, and surrounding areas from April 12 to April 15. The weather system may also bring isolated heavy falls, hailstorms, and the risk of flash flooding in certain regions.

Due to the potential impact of the weather conditions, farmers are advised to take necessary precautions to protect their crops, while tourists are urged to avoid unnecessary travel during this period. Additionally, residents are warned about the possibility of landslides in vulnerable areas and damage to structures such as electric poles and solar panels.

Temperatures are expected to drop during the wet spell, adding to the challenging conditions. It is crucial for individuals in the affected areas to stay informed and prepared for the upcoming weather disturbances.
