Collaborative efforts between the Government of Sindh, KE, and local leaders in Lyari to address electricity challenges through community engagement and targeted strategies for bill recovery and payment.
In a recent meeting held in Karachi, the Chief Distribution Officer, Sadia Dada, and Regional Head (Distribution) Sheikh Humayun Saghir, along with local political and community leaders, including Pakistan People’s Party MNA Nabeel Gabol and MPA Yousuf Baloch, came together to address concerns raised by citizens in Lyari. The meeting was part of a committee established by the Government of Sindh (GoS) to tackle issues such as load shedding and timely payment of electricity bills in the area.
The focus of the discussion was on resolving issues related to bill non-payment and electricity theft, which are crucial for improving the electricity supply in Lyari. Participants explored strategies to encourage residents and businesses to clear their outstanding electricity bills for the current month. This initiative will be supported by KE’s recovery camps, utility support teams, and the respective Union Councils.
An agreement was reached to hold bi-monthly meetings to evaluate the effectiveness of community engagement efforts and develop plans to enhance bill recovery rates in the area.
