Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) in Pakistan cracks down on electricity theft, penalizing thousands and recovering millions in fines. Law enforcement agencies actively combat illegal activities to ensure fair electricity distribution and promote a sustainable energy system.

Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has taken a strong stance against electricity theft, a prevalent issue in Pakistan. In the last 290 days, FESCO has identified and penalized 9375 individuals for stealing electricity, imposing fines exceeding Rs.957.2 million. This initiative is part of a targeted anti-power theft campaign aimed at ensuring fair distribution of electricity resources.

During this period, a thorough examination of 22 million detection units led to the detection of 9187 cases of power theft. Law enforcement agencies have been proactive in apprehending offenders, with a total of 6974 individuals caught. Notably, in the past 24 hours alone, 52 individuals were arrested for electricity theft. The recovery of Rs.681 million from these culprits marks a significant milestone in combating this illegal activity.

Breaking down the numbers by operational circles, the Faisalabad First Circle uncovered 2240 instances of electricity theft, resulting in fines amounting to Rs.224.4 million. In the Faisalabad Second Circle, 1720 cases of power theft were identified, with fines totaling Rs.175 million. The Jhang circle recorded 1059 incidents of power theft, leading to penalties of Rs.107.4 million.

Furthermore, the Sargodha circle witnessed 1364 individuals engaged in electricity theft, facing fines of Rs.145.6 million. In the Mianwali circle, 2364 consumers were found guilty of power theft, resulting in fines of Rs.228.7 million. Lastly, the Toba Tek Singh circle had 628 power pilferers, who were fined Rs.75.8 million.

FESCO's relentless efforts to combat electricity theft have yielded tangible results, with a significant number of offenders being held accountable. This crackdown not only ensures a fair distribution of electricity but also sends a strong message against illegal activities.
