The Food Minister in Punjab leads a crackdown on substandard flour, imposing fines and taking legal action to ensure consumer protection and uphold product quality.

In a recent move to ensure the availability of high-quality flour in Punjab, the Food Minister spearheaded a thorough inspection of flour quality across 561 locations in the province. The primary objective of this crackdown was to uphold standards and protect consumers from substandard products.

During the inspection, fines totaling Rs 785,000 were imposed on individuals caught selling substandard flour. Additionally, 121 warnings were issued to those found with poor quality flour, addressing violations such as excessive moisture content, inferior ingredients, and insufficient gluten.

Authorities were directed to take legal action against offenders selling substandard flour, covering regions like Lahore division, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi division, Gujrat, Sargodha, Multan, Bahawalpur division, DG Khan, and Sahiwal.

The Punjab government's commitment to providing the public with quality and affordable flour was evident through this initiative, showcasing a zero-tolerance stance against the distribution of substandard products.
