MCL Administrator Leads Crackdown on Illegal Cattle Markets

The Metropolitan Corporation Lahore (MCL) has recently taken decisive action against unauthorized cattle markets in Lahore, aiming to maintain law and order in the city. MCL Administrator and Deputy Commissioner Rafia Haider spearheaded a comprehensive operation that led to the closure of 51 illegal sale points spread across all nine administrative zones of Lahore.

During the operation, a total of 10 unauthorized cattle sale points were shut down in Aziz Bhatti zone, 11 in Allama Iqbal zone, four in Gulberg zone, six in Ravi zone, eight in Shalimar zone, nine in Wagha zone, and three in Nishtar zone. Furthermore, seven individuals were charged with FIRs for obstructing the enforcement actions carried out by the authorities.

Illegal cattle markets pose a significant threat to public safety and environmental hygiene. These unauthorized sale points often lack proper facilities for animal welfare and waste management, leading to health hazards for both residents and livestock.
