Hajj Directorate Ensures Smooth Departure Process

Hajj flight operations at Multan International Airport have wrapped up, marking the departure of the final flight to Saudi Arabia. A total of 13,000 intending pilgrims from the region have commenced their journey from the airport. This year, the pilgrimage includes 80,000 participants in the private scheme and 70,000 in the government scheme.

The Hajj Directorate at the airport ensured that all pilgrims were equipped with essential facilities under one roof. To prepare the pilgrims for their journey, comprehensive training sessions were held at the tehsil level. Volunteers and airport personnel worked tirelessly to assist the pilgrims and ensure a seamless departure process.

The Director of Hajj expressed contentment in serving the guests of Allah and His Prophet (PBUH) as a public servant, considering it a matter of honor. He noted that the cost of Hajj is influenced by the exchange rate, with last year's expenses totaling Rs 1,175,000 per person. However, this year, the cost has decreased to Rs 1,075,000 due to a favorable exchange rate.

Looking ahead, there is optimism that the expenses for Hajj could see further reductions if the rupee continues to strengthen in the coming years.
