Wafaqi Mohtasib Office Enhances Vehicle Registration Services in Islamabad

An Inspection Team from the Wafaqi Mohtasib Office conducted a visit to the Excise and Taxation Office in Islamabad to address the challenges faced by the public in vehicle registration. Led by a Senior Advisor, the team interacted with citizens to address their concerns promptly.

The Inspection Team's report prompted the establishment of a one-window facilitation desk at the ETO Office to streamline public services. The office currently offers online registration services for vehicles, transfer of registration, and token tax payment. Additionally, applicants can avail of these services at their homes for a nominal fee of Rs. 1900. Mobile teams from the ETO Office also provide registration services at public parks and other locations daily after 4 pm.

Despite the commendable efforts, concerns were raised about the agent mafia charging exorbitant fees for basic services. The petitioners highlighted the need for free registration forms and adherence to official photocopy rates. The Inspection Team directed the administration to display clear guidelines for registration and tax submission in both English and Urdu, along with promoting online registration awareness.

In conclusion, the Wafaqi Mohtasib's intervention has paved the way for improved public service delivery at the ETO Office, emphasizing transparency and accessibility for all citizens.
