PIA Successfully Completes Pre-Hajj Operation

The pre-Hajj operation of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has come to a successful end with the departure of the last flight from Karachi to Jeddah. This operation aimed at transporting 35,030 Hajj pilgrims to Hijaz through a total of 171 flights. These flights catered to around 19,500 pilgrims under the government scheme, 14,900 under the private scheme, and 630 Khudam-ul-Hujaj heading to Medina and Jeddah.

Starting on May 9 and running until June 11, PIA's pre-Hajj operation included flights departing from major cities like Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Sialkot, and Peshawar. Pilgrims from Sukkur and Quetta were also facilitated to travel to Jeddah via Karachi. Out of the 171 flights, 126 departed on time, while 45 faced delays due to adverse weather conditions and operational reasons.

The Chief Executive Officer of PIA expressed his appreciation to all the teams involved in the successful execution of the pre-Hajj operation. Looking ahead, the post-Hajj operation of PIA is set to kick off on June 20 and will run until July 21, 2024.

As PIA wraps up its pre-Hajj operation, it marks a significant milestone in facilitating the pilgrimage journey for thousands of pilgrims.
