The KP FS&HFA conducted inspections in DIKhan to ensure food safety by confiscating expired items and imposing fines on substandard products. Utilizing a mobile lab, they aimed to combat food adulteration and promote a healthier food environment.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Food Safety and Halal Food Authority (KP FS&HFA) recently conducted inspections in DIKhan to ensure the safety of food products for the residents. Led by Deputy Director Halal Food Authority Dera Muhammad Asif, multiple teams from KP FS&HFA carried out surprise checks at various establishments including dairy shops, grocery stores, bakeries, and milk shops in Ratta Kulachi and New Bannu Chungi areas.

During the inspections, expired items such as biscuits, cakes, and drinks were confiscated and disposed of. Fines were imposed on those using substandard products, and warning notices were issued to certain shop owners and bakeries, stressing the importance of adhering to regulations to uphold food quality standards in the market.

Utilizing a mobile laboratory, the teams assessed the quality of food items on-site and sent samples for further testing. The main goal of these operations was to combat food adulteration and protect public health. It was emphasized that the objective was not to harm food businesses but to ensure the availability of safe and high-quality food products in the local markets.
