The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) recently took action by terminating the employment of Line Superintendent Grade-II, Ghulam Nabi, from Batapur Sub-Division due to his involvement in unauthorized activities. These activities led to a disruption in power supply to the area consumers for an extended period.

An investigation conducted by the department uncovered that Ghulam Nabi was engaged in moving electrical equipment without proper authorization and was complicit in facilitating power theft through the installation of fraudulent electricity meters. XEN Shalamar Division, Ali Raza, made the decision to dismiss Ghulam Nabi after a thorough inquiry.

The incident involved the unsafe shifting of an 11KV pole and a 25kVA transformer without seeking permission from the department. It was also noted that both government and private workers were involved in the operation, posing a risk to the safety of the private team.
