Pakistan gears up for Hajj 2024 with preparations finalized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. 69,500 pilgrims to depart from eight airports, with mandatory vaccinations and essential items provided for the sacred journey.

Pakistan is all set to kick off the Hajj 2024 operation from May 9, with preparations finalized by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony. The flight operation will see the participation of four airlines, namely Pakistan International Airlines (PIA), Saudi Airlines, Air Blue, and Serene Air, facilitating the journey for 69,500 pilgrims departing from eight airports across the country.

The vaccination of pilgrims is scheduled to commence on April 30 at the Hajj Camps, with mandatory vaccinations required ten days before the Hajj flights begin. Pilgrims will be equipped with essential items such as a suitcase, hand-carry bag, shoe bag, Ihram belt, and a green scarf featuring the Pakistani flag. Additionally, carrying a smartphone will be compulsory for all pilgrims to access helpful mobile applications during their sacred pilgrimage.

Hajj, one of the five pillars of Islam, is a significant spiritual journey undertaken by millions of Muslims globally each year in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The pilgrimage occurs during the month of Dhul Hijjah, the twelfth month in the Islamic Calendar, starting on the 8th of Dhul Hijjah and lasting approximately five to six days, contingent on the moon sighting. The conclusion of Hajj coincides with the four-day festival of Eidul Adha, celebrated by Muslims worldwide.
