In Lahore, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, announced that the registration of pilgrims for the private Hajj scheme is currently underway. A total of twenty-four thousand pilgrims are expected to participate in the Road to Makkah project this year. Ashrafi mentioned during a news conference that the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah will be sending senior officials to provide training to Pakistani pilgrims.
