A workshop at Sindh Madressatul Islam University appoints students as Brand Ambassadors for the Provincial Ombudsman, aiming to promote good governance and transparency.

A recent workshop held at Sindh Madressatul Islam University (SMIU) in Karachi, led by Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Muhammad Sohail Rajput, aimed to appoint SMIU students as Brand Ambassadors for the Provincial Ombudsman. The selected students will play a crucial role in raising awareness about the Ombudsman's functions and responsibilities among their peers and the general public.

During the workshop, Provincial Ombudsman Sindh Muhammad Sohail Rajput addressed a large audience of SMIU students at the Sir Shahnawaz Bhutto Auditorium. He highlighted the significance of the Ombudsman Office in delivering administrative justice to the public and introduced the Brand Ambassador Program, a collaborative effort with the International Ombudsman Institute. This program seeks to instill civic duties, share information, and expand community engagement through students who are viewed as future leaders.

The appointed student Ambassadors will serve as a vital connection between the Ombudsman's office, the student community, and the broader society. This initiative is anticipated to promote good governance, transparency, and accountability within government institutions. The Ombudsman expressed his pleasure in visiting SMIU, the esteemed alma mater of Pakistan's founder, Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah.

He stressed the importance of establishing links between the Ombudsman's office and educational institutions, a practice not yet widespread in the country. The Ombudsman also mentioned the office's expansion in Karachi and other cities in Sindh, underlining the necessity of boosting exports to tackle economic challenges. Furthermore, endeavors are underway to involve schools and colleges in the province to encourage public service through the Brand Ambassadors.

SMIU Vice Chancellor Dr. Mujeebuddin Sahrai Memon extended a warm welcome to the Ombudsman and his team, recognizing the university's role in nurturing skilled youth for the nation.

The workshop at Sindh Madressatul Islam University marked a significant step towards engaging students in promoting the Ombudsman's role and fostering a culture of accountability and transparency in governance. The appointment of student Brand Ambassadors signifies a collaborative effort to bridge the gap between the Ombudsman's office and the youth, paving the way for a more informed and responsible society.
