Punjab Food Minister Praises Government's Food Affordability Initiatives

In a recent seminar organized by the Pakistan Dairy Association, Punjab Food Minister Bilal Yaseen commended the government's efforts in fulfilling its promise to offer cost-effective and top-notch food items to the public within the first 100 days of the provincial administration. Under the guidance of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, the Food Department has shown exceptional performance in ensuring food affordability and quality.

One of the significant achievements highlighted by Yaseen was the substantial reduction in prices of essential food commodities in Punjab. Items like flour, wheat, roti, naan, and semolina witnessed a remarkable drop of up to 48%, making these staples more accessible to the general population. This decrease, combined with the availability of economical and high-quality flour, has effectively addressed the issue of food affordability for the masses.

The minister also underscored the government's initiatives in providing significant relief on various bakery products such as roti, naan, rusks, and bread. Furthermore, special measures were implemented to lower chicken prices while ensuring a consistent supply of poultry products meeting quality standards.

Yaseen emphasized the potential for investment in Pakistan's dairy industry and highlighted the rigorous monitoring of milk quality by 150 food safety teams to ensure the availability of pure and safe milk. He reiterated the government's unwavering commitment to eradicating the sale of adulterated milk under all circumstances.
