In April, Punjab Highway Patrol demonstrated efficiency by apprehending offenders, recovering stolen vehicles, and ensuring highway safety.

In the month of April, the Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP) demonstrated remarkable efficiency and dedication in ensuring the safety and security of citizens on the highways. Through the innovative e-Police Post app, PHP checked 1.80 million individuals and apprehended 422 proclaimed offenders, including 17 category 'A' and 395 category 'B' offenders.

Utilizing modern technology, PHP inspected 1.21 million vehicles, leading to the recovery of 186 stolen vehicles, comprising 16 cars, 163 motorcycles, and 07 other vehicles. Additionally, Rs 228,019 e-challans were issued for traffic violations, with 1477 vehicles penalized for unauthorized gas cylinder usage and 105,155 overloaded vehicles fined for exceeding approved axle loads.

Moreover, PHP facilitated the issuance of 14,185 driving licenses, provided assistance to 7,228 stranded passengers, and enhanced traffic flow by eliminating 327 encroachments from the highways. The patrol also delivered first aid to 159 accident victims and seized a significant amount of illegal weapons and narcotics, including 06 Kalashnikovs, 16 rifles, 61 pistols, 1838 liters of alcohol, 15,251 grams of charas, 20,450 grams of opium, and 20,000 grams of poppy.

Encouraging a culture of diligence and selfless service, Additional IGP PHP Abdul Karim and DIG PHP Dr. Muhammad Athar Waheed emphasized the importance of protecting citizens' lives and properties, underscoring service as the core ethos of Punjab Highway Patrol.
