Under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Punjab police intensify efforts to combat drug trafficking. Recent crackdown results in numerous arrests and significant drug seizures.

Under the directives of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the Punjab police have ramped up efforts to make the province drug-free. Intelligence-based operations are currently underway in all districts of Punjab to combat the drug trade.

Over the past 24 hours, a total of 221 raids were carried out on the hideouts of drug dealers, resulting in the arrest of 44 suspects and the registration of 66 cases. Law enforcement authorities seized more than 35 kilos of charas, 1.5 kgs of heroin, and other illicit substances from the apprehended individuals.

During the preceding 23 days, a staggering 12,000 raids were conducted on drug dealers' hideouts across various districts, including Lahore. This extensive crackdown led to the registration of 5,760 cases against drug offenders and the arrest of 5,280 individuals. Authorities confiscated over 3,973 kg of charas, in addition to more than 21 kg of ice, 500 kg of opium, and 42,132 liters of liquor from the culprits.

IG Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar has instructed Regional Police Officers (RPOs) and District Police Officers (DPOs) to closely monitor the ongoing operations against drug dealers and ensure that the perpetrators face appropriate legal consequences.

The relentless efforts of the Punjab police, under the leadership of Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, demonstrate a firm commitment to eradicating the scourge of drugs from the province. With a significant number of arrests and seizures made in recent days, the crackdown on drug trafficking is intensifying, sending a strong message to those involved in illegal narcotics trade.
