Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan Arrested in Property Dispute

Former prime minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Sardar Tanveer Ilyas Khan, found himself in legal trouble as he was arrested by Islamabad Police following a family property dispute. The arrest took place at Margalla Police Station and was confirmed by a Capital Police spokesperson. Allegations against Khan included seizing family property and his involvement in a shooting incident.

On May 1, a case was filed against Ilyas for an incident at Centaurus Mall. The FIR listed Sardar Tanveer Ilyas, along with others, for attempting to take control of the mall's central offices and important documents. Reports indicated that Khan, accompanied by armed individuals, forcibly entered an office at the mall but was thwarted by security guards. Allegedly, threats were made and a security officer was physically assaulted. The situation escalated when Khan reportedly fired at Colonel (retd) Tipu Sultan, narrowly missing him.

Following the arrest, supporters of Ilyas gathered outside the police station, while party workers congregated at his residence. Tensions rose as details of the allegations emerged, leading to a standoff between Khan's supporters and law enforcement.
