The Sindh government, in collaboration with the World Bank, is set to distribute solar systems to 200,000 families in the province, providing sustainable energy solutions and promoting renewable energy use.

The Sindh government, in partnership with the World Bank, has unveiled a groundbreaking plan to distribute complete solar systems to 200,000 families across the province. Each system, priced at Rs7,000, will consist of essential components such as solar panels, a charge controller, and a battery. These systems are designed to power a fan and three LED lights, offering sustainable energy solutions to households.

Under this initiative, Karachi will receive 50,000 solar systems, while each district in Sindh will be allocated 6,656 systems. The World Bank has committed $32 million towards this project, which is set to kick off in October pending an official announcement by the provincial government.

This initiative not only aims to provide electricity to underserved families but also promotes the use of renewable energy sources. By harnessing the power of the sun, these solar systems will enable households to access reliable electricity, reducing their dependence on traditional power grids and contributing to a cleaner environment.
