Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) recently cracked down on several consumers in Multan for breaching gas connection regulations. The company's task force, during their routine inspections, disconnected six connections due to various violations.

During the inspections, it was found that two meters were being used for commercial purposes instead of domestic use, leading to their immediate disconnection. Additionally, meters of three consumers were seized due to non-payment issues, while another consumer had their meter disconnected for unauthorized extensions to neighboring houses. The task force also removed illegal extensions from five other consumers to ensure compliance with safety standards.

Furthermore, the special recovery team of the task force imposed a fine of Rs 17297 on one consumer for violations. Operation Incharge Jameel Rasheed highlighted the importance of acquiring gas cylinders directly from SNGPL to avoid potential hazards, advising against purchasing unregistered cylinders from local vendors.

It is crucial for consumers to adhere to gas connection regulations to ensure safety and prevent disruptions in service. SNGPL's proactive measures in Multan serve as a reminder for all consumers to use gas resources responsibly and in accordance with the law.
