Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) intensifies efforts to combat gas theft, disconnecting 92 illegal connections and imposing fines. The crackdown targets various regions, promoting fair distribution and preventing illegal activities in the energy sector.

Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has recently intensified its efforts to combat gas theft in various regions, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. The company has taken decisive action by disconnecting 92 illegal gas connections and imposing fines amounting to a total of Rs 2 million.

The crackdown primarily targeted areas such as Lahore, Sheikhupura, Multan, Bahawalpur, Faisalabad, Gujrat, and Peshawar, where unauthorized gas consumption was rampant.

In Lahore and Sheikhupura, SNGPL disconnected 45 illegal connections, leading to fines of Rs 960,000. In Multan and Bahawalpur, 12 connections were cut off due to unauthorized gas usage. Additionally, in Faisalabad and Gujrat, 3 connections were disconnected for similar violations. In Peshawar, SNGPL took action against 32 connections for direct and unauthorized gas consumption, imposing fines totaling Rs 0.5 million.

SNGPL's proactive measures against gas theft demonstrate the company's commitment to ensuring fair distribution of resources and preventing illegal activities that can endanger public safety.
