SNGPL Cracks Down on Gas Theft Across Multiple Regions

Authorities from SNGPL have intensified their efforts to combat gas theft in various regions, including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad. During recent raids, a total of 119 illegal gas connections were disconnected, and fines amounting to Rs 4 million were imposed on the culprits.

In Lahore, the regional team took action against 5 connections involved in the unauthorized use of gas, imposing fines totaling Rs 0.18 million. In Multan, 7 connections were disconnected for illegal usage, with an additional 2 connections shut down due to the use of compressors.

Significant crackdowns were also carried out in Peshawar and Karak, resulting in the disconnection of 97 connections due to direct and illegal gas usage. A substantial amount of Rs 3.6 million was booked in gas theft cases, with one FIR lodged against the offenders.

Further operations in Rawalpindi led to the disconnection of one connection for illegal gas use, with fines amounting to Rs 0.1 million. In Sahiwal, one connection was disconnected for unauthorized gas consumption, while in Faisalabad, a similar action was taken against one connection, with fines of Rs 0.02 million imposed.

The regional team in Mardan also cracked down on gas theft, disconnecting 5 connections and imposing fines of Rs 0.1 million in total. These efforts reflect the commitment of SNGPL to curb illegal gas activities and ensure fair distribution of resources.
