The Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) has recently taken a strong stance against gas theft by disconnecting 63 connections across various regions in Pakistan. This action was necessary to curb the illegal consumption of gas and ensure fair distribution among all consumers.

In Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, SNGPL's efforts led to the disconnection of 63 connections involved in unauthorized gas usage. The offenders faced a collective fine of Rs. 1.6 million as a consequence of their actions.

Specifically, in Lahore and Sheikhupura, SNGPL's regional teams disconnected 17 connections, resulting in fines exceeding Rs. 1 million. In Faisalabad and Multan, 14 connections were cut off due to illegal gas consumption. Additionally, in Bahawalpur and Gujranwala, 4 connections were also disconnected to deter further gas theft.

Moreover, in Peshawar, SNGPL took action against 28 connections engaged in direct and unauthorized gas usage, imposing fines totaling Rs. 0.2 million to address gas theft cases effectively.
