Karachi, the largest city in Pakistan, is gearing up for heavy rainfall as two westerly systems are expected to bring significant precipitation to the region. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has taken proactive measures by issuing instructions to various departments and agencies to prepare for the impending rain.

The Chief Minister has directed the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), all towns, and the water board to complete necessary arrangements to mitigate the impact of the rainfall. Additionally, he has instructed civic agencies to coordinate closely with the Provincial Disaster Management Authority to ensure a swift response in case of any emergencies.

Weather analyst Jawad Memon has provided insights into the expected weather patterns, indicating that Karachi is likely to experience rain and thunderstorms from April 13 to 15 under the first system. The forecast suggests light to moderate rainfall of up to 15 millimetres accompanied by strong winds during this period.

Looking ahead, the second westerly wave system is projected to reach southern areas of the country, including Karachi, on April 17. This system may bring further rainfall to the coastal regions of Sindh and Balochistan, with thunder cells forming in Karachi's outskirts. Residents are advised to stay indoors and take necessary precautions during this period.

Other areas in Sindh, such as Sukkur and Larkana, are also expected to witness moderate to heavy rainfall in the coming days, highlighting the need for preparedness and vigilance across the region.

As Karachi braces for inclement weather conditions, the proactive measures taken by the Sindh Chief Minister and the detailed weather forecasts provided by experts offer valuable insights for residents and authorities alike. By staying informed and prepared, the city can navigate through the upcoming rainfall with resilience and efficiency.
