The Balochistan government health department is set to introduce a modular system in public sector medical colleges to enhance education quality and align with international standards. Led by Secretary Health Abdullah Khan, the initiative aims to improve learning experiences for medical students in the province.

The Balochistan government health department has announced the implementation of a modular system in public sector medical colleges across the province by April 22. This decision was made during a meeting chaired by Secretary Health Balochistan Abdullah Khan, where it was decided to align with the instructions of PMDC to introduce the modular system in all public sector medical colleges in Balochistan.

Under the leadership of Vice Chancellor Bolan University of Medical and Health Sciences Professor Shabbir Ahmed Lehri, a steering committee comprising representatives from all medical colleges in Balochistan will be established to develop strategic planning and guidelines for the implementation of the modular system.

The modular system of medical education, gaining popularity globally, involves breaking down the curriculum into smaller, focused modules, each covering a specific topic. This approach allows students to concentrate on one topic at a time, facilitating better understanding and retention of the material. By dividing the curriculum into manageable modules, students can grasp complex medical concepts more effectively, potentially reducing stress and enhancing academic performance.

Secretary Health Abdullah Khan emphasized that the primary goal of implementing the modular system is to enhance the quality of medical education in the province and elevate it to international standards. This initiative is expected to provide more specialized courses and improve the overall learning experience for medical students in Balochistan.
