Chief Minister Gandapur leads a meeting discussing the CRBC project, focusing on funding, irrigation, and economic growth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

An important meeting took place at Pakhtunkhwa House Islamabad, chaired by Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sardar Ali Amin Khan Gandapur, to discuss the implementation of the Chashma Right Bank Canal (CRBC) project. Higher authorities from relevant provincial and federal departments attended the meeting. The participants focused on various aspects of the project and decided to float tenders by July this year. The project, with 65% funding from the federal government and 35% from the provincial government, aims to irrigate 2,86000 acres of barren land, boosting agriculture production and creating job opportunities.

The federal government has committed to allocating Rs. 10 billion for the project in the next financial year's Public Sector Development Program (PSDP). Chief Minister Gandapur emphasized the project's significance for food security, not only for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa but for the entire country. Stressing the urgency of timely implementation, he directed swift action and prioritized funding for income-generating projects. Additionally, plans are underway to transfer the CRBC project to the provincial government and initiate another project to irrigate 90 thousand acres of land in southern districts.

The CRBC project holds immense importance for enhancing agricultural productivity and ensuring water utilization efficiency in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. With a clear roadmap and financial commitments in place, the project signifies a significant step towards achieving agricultural self-sufficiency and economic growth in the region.
