CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Launches 300 Special Education Schools Initiative

Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif, has unveiled a groundbreaking initiative to set up 300 Special Education Schools as Centers of Excellence across Punjab. This move aims to provide specialized education and support to children with disabilities, ensuring they receive the necessary resources for their holistic development.

Recently, CM Sharif actively engaged in a special education event dedicated to offering hearing aids and launching an enrollment campaign for out-of-school special children. She demonstrated her commitment by personally interacting with the children, including holding one in her lap, showcasing her genuine care and empathy towards their needs.

Furthermore, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif expressed appreciation for the artistic talents of the special children, accepting a painting and a sketch presented by students from Special Education Sargodha. She officially initiated the enrollment campaign and distributed hearing aid instruments to those in need, emphasizing the importance of inclusive education for all.

During the event, the special children captivated the audience with their talents, reciting religious verses, performing national songs, and showcasing their skills. Representatives from UNICEF and the Secretary of Special Education reiterated the significance of inclusive education and extended support for children with special needs.

In her address, CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif showered the children with affection, labeling them as her heroes. She acknowledged the collaborative efforts of UNICEF, GPE, and the Special Education department in providing essential resources and announced plans for a forthcoming wheelchair provision project to empower children with disabilities for mainstream education.
