Deputy Commissioner of Khairpur leads efforts to address power load shedding by launching a campaign to eliminate unauthorized connections and improve electricity supply.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Khairpur, Syed Ahmed Fawad, has highlighted the pressing need to tackle the problem of power load shedding in the region. In a recent meeting with officials from Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO) and other relevant departments, the DC stressed the importance of implementing effective measures to address this issue.

The primary focus of the initiative is to ensure a consistent and uninterrupted supply of electricity to residents who diligently pay their bills. The DC urged residents to cooperate in finding a permanent solution to the problem of load shedding and power outages.

One of the key strategies discussed during the meeting is the launch of a campaign to install new meters and eliminate unauthorized connections, commonly referred to as 'Kunda culture.' Currently, the losses due to unauthorized connections are as high as 90 percent. By reducing these losses, the frequency of load shedding on affected feeders can be significantly decreased.

The efforts led by the Deputy Commissioner and SEPCO aim to improve the overall electricity supply situation in Khairpur. By addressing issues such as unauthorized connections and promoting bill payments, the initiative seeks to enhance the quality of life for residents by ensuring a more reliable power supply. Cooperation from the community is crucial in achieving the goal of minimizing load shedding and power outages in the region.
