Federal Ombudsman's Office to Investigate ETO Maladministration

An inspection team from the Federal Ombudsman’s Office is scheduled to visit the Excise and Taxation Office (ETO) in Islamabad tomorrow to address the increasing number of public complaints regarding maladministration within the office. The Federal Ombudsman, Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, took action in response to numerous complaints about delays and difficulties in vehicle registration, tax assessment, and examination processes. To investigate these issues, an Inspection Team led by a Senior Advisor has been appointed to conduct a thorough probe into the matter.

Complaints have surfaced alleging malpractices at the ETO, including the involvement of an agent-mafia and other irregularities that have been causing significant inconvenience to the general public. The inspection team will engage with the public on-site, gathering feedback and conducting interviews to formulate recommendations aimed at resolving the issues in collaboration with the ETO administration.
