An inspection team from the Federal Ombudsman’s Office is set to investigate maladministration at the Excise and Taxation Office in Islamabad, addressing public complaints and aiming to improve transparency and efficiency in government services.

An inspection team from the Federal Ombudsman’s Office is scheduled to visit the Excise and Taxation Office (ETO) in Islamabad tomorrow to address the increasing number of public complaints regarding maladministration within the office. The Federal Ombudsman, Ejaz Ahmad Qureshi, took action in response to numerous complaints about delays and difficulties in vehicle registration, tax assessment, and examination processes. To investigate these issues, an Inspection Team led by a Senior Advisor has been appointed to conduct a thorough probe into the matter.

Complaints have surfaced alleging malpractices at the ETO, including the involvement of an agent-mafia and other irregularities that have been causing significant inconvenience to the general public.
