A heartbreaking event unfolded near Lillah interchange in Jhelum district of Punjab, where Brigadier (retd) Amir Hamza, former Director General of the Emergency Services Academy, was tragically killed in a gun attack. The attack also left his wife and daughter injured.

After the incident, a case was lodged against four unidentified attackers at the Lillah police station in Jhelum. The complaint, filed by the deceased's brother, accused the individuals of murder and attempted murder.

The complaint revealed that Brigadier (Retd) Amir Hamza, along with his wife and daughter, was on his way to meet another daughter in Chakwal for Eid celebrations. The deceased's brother, Principal Muhammad Ayub of Commerce College, recounted that he was following his brother's car on a motorcycle when two armed men on motorcycles surrounded their vehicle near Lillah interchange.

According to Ayub, the assailants fired at the car, resulting in the tragic death of Brigadier (Retd) Amir Hamza before fleeing the scene. The attackers even fired shots into the air as they escaped. Sadly, the retired Brigadier lost his life on the spot, while his wife and 21-year-old daughter sustained injuries in the attack.

This devastating incident near Lillah interchange has shocked the community and raised concerns about security. The authorities are actively investigating the case to bring the perpetrators to justice and ensure the safety of the public.
