Eid ul Azha celebrations in southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa marked by prayers, sacrifices, and community unity. Governor Kundi and CM Gandapur lead the festivities with participation in Eid prayers and distribution of sacrificial meat.
Eid ul Azha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, is a significant Islamic festival that commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son Ismail (AS) as an act of obedience to God. This year, the festival was celebrated with great fervor in the southern districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan.
On the day of Eid, prayers were conducted in mosques, prayer grounds, and open spaces in towns like Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, and South Waziristan. Religious scholars delivered sermons highlighting the importance of sacrifice in the story of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) and Hazrat Ismail (AS).
During the celebrations, people prayed for the prosperity, unity, and development of the country. Following the prayers, individuals performed animal sacrifices in line with the tradition of Sunnat-e-Ibrahimi. The meat from these sacrifices was distributed among relatives and the less fortunate members of the community.
The Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, offered Eid-ul-Azha prayers in Kokar village near his residence, 'Kundi Model Farm.' He exchanged Eid greetings with the public and visited the farm to extend his wishes to the staff. Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur also participated in the Eid prayers in his hometown, accompanied by Tehsil Mayor Umar Amin Gandapur.
