The Punjab government is committed to completing the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha by 2025, addressing the long-standing healthcare gap in the district by providing advanced cardiac care services locally.

The Punjab government is dedicated to completing the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology (NSIC) in Sargodha by 2025, as stated by Dr. Mushtaq Bashir, the Medical Superintendent of Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital. Sargodha district, with a population of approximately 35.5 million spread across seven tehsils, has long lacked modern healthcare facilities, particularly in the field of cardiology.

Dr. Bashir highlighted the absence of a single cardiology center in the district, forcing residents to seek treatment in distant cities like Faisalabad and Lahore for heart-related issues. The initiative to establish the NSIC in Sargodha, spearheaded by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is a significant step towards addressing this healthcare gap.

The NSIC project, inaugurated by Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, is progressing rapidly, utilizing a substantial area within Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital. Once completed, the hospital will boast 170 beds and offer comprehensive cardiac care services, including surgical interventions, to the local population.

The establishment of the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology in Sargodha signifies a crucial advancement in healthcare accessibility for the district's residents. With a focus on providing state-of-the-art cardiac care within the region, this initiative is poised to significantly improve the quality of healthcare services available to the community.
