Police Officer Granted Bail After Train Torture Incident

A police officer accused of subjecting a woman and two children to torture aboard a moving train near Hyderabad has been granted bail by a local court. The incident occurred on April 7 aboard the Karachi to Lala Musa-bound Millat Express, where the officer was captured on video gripping the woman's hair and striking her while fellow passengers looked on.

The officer, identified as Mir Hassan and stationed in Hyderabad, was granted bail against a surety bond of Rs35,000 by Judicial Magistrate Munir Ahmed. The distressing video went viral on social media, prompting swift action and an ongoing investigation into the matter.

According to Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) Railways Abdullah Sheikh, the officer intervened to check the woman's ticket due to alleged travel document issues. Despite her denial, the officer proceeded to abuse her in front of her children. Initially claiming that the woman had kidnapped the children, the officer later admitted to assaulting her after alleging misbehavior on her part.

In response to the incident, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has assured the suspension of the officer pending further inquiry and promised appropriate action. The case has sparked outrage and calls for justice as authorities continue to investigate the troubling events that unfolded aboard the Millat Express near Hyderabad.
