SKIMS Resolves Technical Issues with NMC for Annual Declaration

Officials from SKIMS have confirmed the completion of all necessary formalities for the annual declaration as mandated by various regulations. The National Medical Council (NMC) had issued a show cause notice to the college, prompting SKIMS to upload extensive details on the web portal by the deadline of 10th April, 2024. However, technical issues were encountered during the data submission process, leading to concerns raised by the NMC.

Following multiple show cause notices and the threat of a reduction in MBBS quota, SKIMS authorities engaged in a virtual interaction with the NMC on May 1st, 2024. They highlighted the challenges faced in filling certain fields on the NMC web portal and provided clarifications supported by factual data. Details regarding the institution's bed capacity, medical procedures conducted, and operational challenges were shared to address the NMC's queries.

The spokesperson emphasized that the communication gap arose due to specific fields on the portal failing to accept data, a situation acknowledged by the NMC. This marked the first instance of such extensive information being required to be submitted online, leading to technical hurdles.
