FESCO Cracks Down on Power Theft, Imposes Heavy Fines

The Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has intensified its efforts to combat power theft in the region. Over the past 238 days, FESCO has caught a total of 7774 power pilferers across six circles of the company. These individuals were found guilty of stealing electricity, resulting in a staggering fine of over Rs.812.4 million being imposed on them.

During the ongoing special anti-power theft drive, FESCO's teams detected electricity theft at various points within the different circles. In Faisalabad First Circle, 1843 cases of power theft were identified, leading to a fine of Rs.195.3 million. Similarly, in Faisalabad Second Circle, 1372 electricity thieves were apprehended, with fines amounting to Rs.143.6 million imposed on them.

Other circles, including Jhang, Sargodha, Mianwali, and Toba Tek Singh, also witnessed significant crackdowns on power theft. The total number of detection units charged exceeded 18.1 million, with 7659 cases registered against power thieves. The police have been actively involved in the operation, resulting in the arrest of 6227 individuals involved in power pilfering.

Overall, the efforts of FESCO to curb power theft have been commendable, with substantial fines being levied on those found guilty. This crackdown sends a strong message that electricity theft will not be tolerated, and stringent actions will be taken against offenders.
