The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a weather forecast for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other parts of Pakistan, indicating the likelihood of more rain accompanied by gusty winds in the coming days. This weather pattern is due to a westerly wave affecting the upper and central regions of the country, bringing rain, wind, and thunderstorms to various areas including the twin cities, Potohar region, upper Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir.

Meanwhile, the plains of the country are expected to experience very hot weather and strong winds. Maximum temperatures in Islamabad are expected to reach 40-42°C on Wednesday and 38-40°C on Thursday, with Rawalpindi seeing maximum temperatures between 38-40°C and 36-38°C on the respective days.

In recent days, most parts of the country have been experiencing hot and dry weather, with isolated instances of rain, wind, and thunderstorms in upper Punjab and Kashmir. Some areas in Punjab recorded scorching temperatures as high as 48°C, while other regions saw maximum temperatures ranging from 42-47°C. Islamabad and Rawalpindi also experienced high temperatures of 42°C each, with morning relative humidity levels at 24% and 34% respectively.

As the weather pattern shifts, residents in these areas are advised to stay updated on the latest forecasts and take necessary precautions to stay safe and cool during the hot spells and potential rain showers. It is essential to stay hydrated, seek shade, and avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight to prevent heat-related illnesses.
