The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued a forecast indicating that the country will experience predominantly hot and dry weather in the next 24 hours. This forecast covers various regions, with central and southern plain areas expected to face very high temperatures. However, there is a possibility of partly cloudy conditions with light rain or thunderstorms in isolated areas of Gilgit-Baltistan and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the evening and night.

According to the PMD, the prevailing synoptic situation shows the influence of continental air over most parts of Pakistan, while a shallow westerly wave is affecting the northern regions. In the previous 24 hours, the majority of the country experienced hot and dry weather, with intense heat particularly felt in the southern regions. Despite this, some areas received rainfall, with Kakul recording 14mm, Hyderabad 09mm, and Jhang, Lasbela, Rawalakot, and Bagrote receiving varying amounts of precipitation.

Recorded temperatures soared to 47°C in Bhakkar, 46°C in Jacobabad and Sibbi, and 45°C in Mohenjo-Daro, Bahawalnagar, Gujranwala, Khairpur, Noorpur Thal, Rohri, and Sukkur.

As the PMD's forecast suggests, it is crucial for residents to prepare for the upcoming hot and dry weather conditions. While some relief may be expected in certain northern areas with the possibility of rain or thunderstorms, it is essential to stay hydrated and take necessary precautions to combat the extreme temperatures. Stay updated with the latest weather reports to ensure your safety and well-being during this period.
