During Eid-ul-Azha in Attock, 10 individuals drowned in tragic incidents while bathing in the Indus River. The district administration has enforced Section 144 to prevent further tragedies, emphasizing the importance of safety regulations during festive times.

During the recent Eid-ul-Azha holidays in Attock, a series of heartbreaking incidents unfolded, resulting in the drowning of 10 individuals over a period of three days. These accidents occurred at different spots along the Indus River and a local dam where people had gathered to celebrate Eid but tragically lost their lives while bathing.

Among the victims were two sets of siblings, and in one family, the father was the only survivor. Currently, the bodies of five individuals have been recovered, while efforts are underway to find the remaining five victims in the deep waters of Attock Khurd, Mallahi Tola, and Bagh Nilab.

In response to these distressing events, the district administration has enforced Section 144, which prohibits bathing in rivers, canals, and dams during the Eid holidays. Despite this ban, some individuals have chosen to ignore the restrictions and enter the Indus River, leading to additional incidents.

Rescue teams have appealed to the administration to deploy personnel to rigorously enforce Section 144 and prevent any further tragedies from unfolding.

It is crucial to prioritize safety and adhere to regulations, especially during festive times. Let us all remember the importance of following rules and staying cautious to avoid such devastating incidents in the future.
