Mayor Karachi, Barrister Murtaza Wahab, spearheaded a significant campaign against encroachments across all districts of Karachi simultaneously. The initiative, discussed during a high-level meeting at the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) headquarters, aims to tackle encroachment issues effectively.

Wahab emphasized the deployment of KMC inspectors in every town to collaborate with city administration for a joint operation against encroachments. The comprehensive strategy, formulated under court orders, focuses on removing encroachments without rendering citizens unemployed.

Notably, a proposal to allocate space for hawkers in each district is being considered to facilitate the relocation of carts and vendors. The meeting, attended by Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi and other officials, highlighted specific areas targeted for encroachment removal, including M. A Jinnah Road, Saddar, Regal Market, and more.

Deputy commissioners provided insights on encroachment challenges in their respective districts, outlining plans to ensure smooth traffic flow post-removal. The drive also addresses issues around Hyderi Food Street, Landi Kotal Chowrangi, and other congested areas.

Commissioner Naqvi proposed imposing Section 144 to regulate unauthorized road cutting and emphasized a zero-tolerance policy for encroachments on Shara-e-Faisal. The initiative aims to enhance urban aesthetics and streamline traffic management in Karachi.

In conclusion, the collaborative efforts between KMC, city administration, and law enforcement agencies signify a proactive approach towards reclaiming public spaces and ensuring a cleaner, more organized urban environment in Karachi.
