Lahore Divisional Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa recently conducted a thorough inspection of the RO offices at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) to oversee the operational readiness for the upcoming by-elections. During his visit, Commissioner Randhawa focused on the dispatch of polling materials, transportation arrangements, and monitoring protocols to ensure a smooth electoral process. He emphasized the importance of timely supply deliveries and efficient transportation services from the RO offices, with 70 percent of materials already dispatched.

Commissioner Randhawa stressed the need for all departments to work closely with presiding officers and provide full cooperation. He issued a stern warning to personnel, emphasizing the consequences for absenteeism and urging everyone to fulfill their duties diligently. Additionally, DIG Operations Lahore Ali Naseer Rizvi briefed the commissioner on the security measures in place for the upcoming by-elections.

Furthermore, Commissioner Randhawa made an impromptu visit to the Ghari Shahu area to inspect compliance with government-mandated prices and weights of roti and naan. He verified that the official prices set by the Punjab government are being followed, with roti priced at Rs. 16 for 100 grams in Lahore and Kasur, and naan at Rs. 20 for 120 grams. In Sheikhupura and Nankana Sahib, the prices are Rs. 15 for roti and Rs. 20 for naan. The commissioner interacted with customers at various eateries to gauge their satisfaction with the government's efforts to enforce lower bread prices.
